A Ceremony to Remember in Our Historic Church

Elevate your wedding with a ceremony in our charming and historic church. Originally the family church of the estate owners, the Poynder family, Hartham Church is now a listed building recognised by Historic England. Built in 1862 by P.C. Hardwick in the Perpendicular Gothic style, this unique venue welcomes all couples, offering non-religious marriages and civil partnerships without the need for any prior religious affiliation.

With its rich history, warm ambiance, and seating for up to 150 guests, Hartham Church provides a meaningful and memorable space to begin your life together. The 19th-century church features an octagonal cupola, classical urns, arched windows, and intricate stonework. Inside, you’ll find a beautiful organ, original pews, and three harmonious bells — the Treble, Second, and Tenor — cast at Whitechapel in 1861, each adding to the church’s romantic and historic charm.
